The Holidays approach. We are ahead of the curve. “Big ticket” items decided upon, Larry spends Thursday scouring ads.

Two identical items. Yes, you can get them on sale for $100 or less most any weekend.

But.

Walmart had them on the 5-11 sale at $69 Everyone else had them, too. $69-$79. Some were rebated. Walmart was not. Neither was Sears. $79. And available last night, online, in stock, with free shipping.

Do we do that?

No. “That’s $20″ says Oh Great One.

The appeal to chivalry … “Well then, DH, you must come with me. There will be no one to help, and I will not be able to handle them, nor put them in my car.”

Oh Great One has never been out on Black Friday. Well. Except for deer hunting.

hehe

Thomas! What a BEAUTIFUL Day! And, what a beautiful kid!

Picked Thomas up for an “off campus” visit with not much planned, except picking up a winter jacket. So we decided to go off on a nature drive and take a look at the fall leaves.

We took US 11 south through the Shenandoah Valley and ended up in Woodstock, where we stopped for lunch. Woodstock is at the northern base of Massanutten Mountain, so we took a scenic ride … right across the mountain!

It’s Sunday morning, and I have a dozen things going on. I’m waiting for the vac motor to cool down, so I’ll catch up here for a moment.

Started off this morning with a cup of coffee and doing the admin at OH/ShesO. Noticed an interesting referer, and paused to surf.

Feeds that Matter for Productivity: will no doubt change, but has some interesting links in it. GTD, Life Hacks, Mind Hacks, etc. But one caught my eye …

The Virtually Free Office: Quite cool. Knew about the Google apps, but it was interesting to see how this small company put them all together as a business solution. Excellent article.

Several of the comments recommended ThinkFree as an online virtual office. May try it. But I have an aversion to flipping around the web for different services. I want it all – and I want it in one interface. And, I have concerns about these free sites – 1. Will they stay free? 2. Will they be there next week?

Poking around on the main site, found a project they are testing for project planningDigital Planning Board.

Oh yeah. Right up my alley. Because … and here’s the scoop …

I want to take RT to a collaborative workspace. Well, that’s not really news. And, since I’ve been thinking about how to do it, and what tools to use, there has been an explosion on the Web of site dedicated to just that. So. Maybe a portal? Why reinvent the wheel?

Needs more thought. But really needs action.

And, I need to see if the vac has cooled down enough to finish what I started. lol
