Even better?! And, what could be better than a free class? For each participant who signs up, Lain will donate $1 to the Books For Kids Foundation!

Actually, it’s a free challenge! Bec told me about it, and I couldn’t wait to sign up for L.O.A.D (LayOut-A-Day) from Lain through BigPictureScrapbooking.

Lain designed the cool Reading Log project from Kolette’s Giving Well workshop that I had so much fun with.

So come have some fun and support a good cause!

If you are going to use statistical analysis to try to convince me of something, at least make sure your numbers support your theory. I can do the math.

Our local Economic Development Council has been running promos on our local cable channel trying to convince us that working locally is more economical than the 50+ mile round trip most of us endure daily.

Initially, the slides proclaimed the average cost of commuting in the $20K per year range. That seemed alittle excessive, and it wasn’t long before they pulled it in favor of a link to a calculator.

That made it entirely too easy.

The Girls

are those that just touch your heart and make you reflect on your blessings.

Belinda called one evening last week, excited, telling me to watch for a package. It came Friday. An innoculous little flat envelope, emblazoned with the words, “Don’t Bend – Photos”

I opened it to find several portrait prints of her family – the whole family, Belinda & Rick, the girls, and this beautiful photo of Mother & Daughters. They are all lovely photos of a lovely family. The one of the girls particularly so, as it is a trendy back to back pose that really captures the essence of sisters.

I hold these photos in my hands, and they touch my heart.

Chip!Well, the day is over, and my first born is no longer a teenager. It sure doesn’t seem like 20 years ago that I couldn’t sleep and kept wandering down to the nursery to sit with my new baby. They wouldn’t let him stay in the room with me, and nearly broke my heart when they wouldn’t discharge him right away.

In the post below, you saw me playing with a new web service – LiveBlog from CoverItLive. The whole process is fairly straightforward.

You can load all media files – that’s images, audio, and video – in advance. It’s about as easy as uploading to Photobucket, Flickr, or Picasa. To use preloaded media files during the LiveBlog, you just double click on them from the console.

You can also preload links that you wish to use, and text files.

Running the LiveBlog is almost as easy as using IM. You have a web page that is a console. The “IM” piece is in the middle, and your files and tools are to the left. Comments from viewers display on the right side of the console. The application runs on AJAX.

For your viewers, they just go to your website, where you’ve already posted the code. It’s all automatic for them. They just sit there and watch – it’s a JAVA script.

Looking at my replay, you have to click on the view files link for image pop ups.

During the LiveBlog, I had the settings so that the images popped up automatically. I was watching in another window, and it worked seamlessly.

There were some lags. Not sure if that was me or the server.

Yes. You read that you can use audio files. So, you could stream a musical introduction or background. The viewer will hear it, and have the option to mute sound.

Viewer comments. You will see those stream into a section of the console in real time. No one else sees them unless you specifically click the ADD button on the message you want public.

You have the option of responding to the comment publicly – or sending the viewer a private message.

There is a Be Right Back timer that you can set, and the viewers see a countdown clock for the minutes until you return. You can continue to send information – either publicly or privately during that time. Perfect for a Q&A period or Open Chat.

Unless there is an option I missed, which is entirely possible, you would have to physically ADD each comment you wanted to be public.

If you go to the site – CoverItLive - there is a demo that lets you play with the console. When I did it, one of the developers jumped in and guided me through the whole process. Truly awesome!

Even better – the service will be available as a mobile app in February! What you say?! Yes! You could launch a LiveBlog from you cell phone!

I am SO into this! TimelessCrone.com is going to ROCK!

I have found a totally awesome new web tool!

CoverItLive is a FREE service that allows you embed live events in your blog! Once the event is over, the code allows readers who missed the event to replay it!

The possibilities are, indeed, endless.

Let’s try it here, with a Virtual Crop! At this very moment, the LiveBlog is “upcoming.” So what’s it look like?
