from an online scrapping community, of all things! BWAHAHAHAHA! You’re gonna love this ….
A troublesome little OS/MusesMecca member left the boards in a huff because we would not comply with her request to provide a Layout Gallery.
So she setup her own MakingMemoriesForYou community.
On a free board, which didn’t have a gallery either. {rolling eyes}
So colorful crayon that she is, she turned image uploads on and told members to create a thread in a Gallery Forum and upload their work there. Shut herself down within 24 hours. That’s got to be a record.
So she goes paid hosting, and in an effort not to piss off her new host, promises a Gallery – coming soon!
Coppermine, poor dear.
Now, she leaves file attachments and image uploads “on” and leaves all posts with file attachments and imbedded images active when she moves the data. Of course, she forgot to move the actual files, so you can’t access them, but when you go to the new boards, the images are still appearing in posts.
Being the compliant little people pleaser that I am, I try to give her site a boost and upload some images to her new gallery and post a link in her Altered Goodies forum.
Two things happen …
First, I get an private message from one of her Design Team members asking how I uploaded images to a post – that being a post on the old board that made the transition.
I started to reply, then thought I’d better test to make sure that the IMG function worked before I sent inaccurate information.
Testing proved that the IMG function worked by tag, but the buttons in the theme did not.
I started a thread in her Questions About the Site forum to ask about the policy, explain the discrepancy, and demonstrate what I was talking about.
The new webmistress comes in and asks “what IMG function?” and proceeds to delete all of the image tests – never responding to the policy question, much less acknowledging it. Just a snippy little message telling me to use her Gallery.
Well, I had, which brings me to the second happening.
In the Gallery, I created a member album, and uploaded appropriately sized images according to the gallery settings. I had posted a link to that Gallery in the Altered Goodies forum.
Immediately, a (different) Design Team member replies:
[webmistress] said she doesn’t want us to create albums, please move your stuff. [webmistress] also wants us to size the uploads so members don’t have to scroll.
So. Resize it and move it, dumbass! Like I know what size monitors the members use, and what resolutions they are set at.
Well, shit!
Still playing the compliant little people pleaser, and not having the time at hand to make corrections, I delete the images and the member album. Board settings do not permit me to delete my Altered Goodies post. As my readers know, I use a public Picasa album to share my artwork, so I removed the member gallery link in my post and replaced it with a link to my work.
Oh, hell! Well that won’t do, either!
The second thing that happens is Webmistress immediately deletes the link and posts:
Lisa, sorry I had to delete your link, you MUST upload in the gallery here.
If you dont know how please read upload directions in Announcements
thanksI cannot let you upload here and everyone else there.
At this point, I am wondering if it’s just me. Maybe I really am a dumbass. I thought I had posted a link and removed all the direct uploads. So I did a forum search on “links” and “uploads” – I can’t find anything that resembles a policy, but I see that the Webmistress and Design Team Tzar regularly chastise members, publicly, for not assimilating these finer points of posting by osmosis.
While browsing, I see other terse little notes to members and the Design Team – remove all blinkies advertising other sites, add only our site blinkie to your sig, ad nauseum. Best? “If you are a member of the Design Team, you agreed to add my blinkie to all sites that you are a member of. Please do so now.”
As Design Team members replied that they had, or that they didn’t belong to other sites, Webmistress pointedly replied, “Not you. They know who I’m talking about.”
Another childish little clique of aged cheerleaders, like so many of the other, more popular, Scrapping sites that I don’t have the time nor temperament for.
So, last night, I went into the messageboard profile settings and changed my account information to remove all personally identifying information – my photo avatar, my location, my (real) username, links to my blog, and my email to a (junk) hotmail account.
Options to remove my posts are not available in the user control panel. I only have 15 or so, so I proceed to those in an attempt to delete them. Where there are no security settings for image uploads and file attachments, the ability to delete one’s own posts is turned off.
So I used edit to remove the text from my posts. As the software doesn’t permit blank posts, I inserted a frownie-face smilie.
Well that lit Ms. Webmistress’ ass on fire!
I started seeing private messages about “Board Warnings” to stop playing games or be banned.
After 4 or 5 warnings, I sent the Webmistress a simple little private message:
It is not necessary to ban me – please DELETE my account.
I was unable to remove my posts after I removed my images from your gallery. I do not participate on boards where members are publicly chastised.
I suppose she woke up on the wrong side of the bed, as she quickly tired of warning me, and publicly posted this announcement on her board, using my real name in the subject:
I am sorry to call you out BUT I will NOT have you continue to simply post a mean smiley on folks threads.
I think that maybe you need to part ways with this site. You refused to upload in MY GALLERY you wanted to just link from another gallery or photobucket etc.
I have received JUST THIS MORNING 8 pms complaining that you are posting this smilie
on their posts.
SO you have been warned Lisa and just to let you know that changing your name to LEAVING and changing computers doesnt keep me from banning you dear as in the admin area I see ALL IP that you have used.
NOW if you want to stay then stay, change your silly name back, if you want to LEAVE then do it.
OR If you continue to post those stupid mean face smilies on MY GIRLS POSTS I will BAN YOU MYSELFTHIS IS the LAST time I will deal with this subject
Then, and immediate public reply to my private message:
and do NOT send me a pm telling me why you think what you are doing is ok????
grrrr
I am quaking in my slippers.

O. M. Gosh.
What a twit.
I think this will be a harbinger of things to come. They can (and have) called me many things in the past, but if our members think CEO is an old stick, just WAIT until they meet some of the prima donnas that aspire to be the “new CEO”.
I’m disgusted.
Soon-to-be-retired Webmistress
OMG….I know just who you are talking about….talk about RUDE….!!!!!
Even IF I get annoyed at people….please SLAP me if I ever get that obnoxious!!!!!
OMG – Lisa, you bad girl.;) I am getting a good laugh at this, though. Thanks for starting my day in a funny way. I am sorry you had to experience this.
